Introduction
While I’m writing this post, it’s still raining heavily outside. And plus, I haven’t taken my bath! Eughh stink! My nose bled when I woke up and I took the chance to continue dwelling on this new post. Sounds poetic, isn’t it? The sky is still ashen black with patches of plain obscure rays of light.

this is my everyday sky. so tranquil and serene
There is still no sign of the bright orange ball called the sun. It never stops raining ever since Ramadhan visited us like a month ago. It’s a great gift from Allah because the weather is so promising for those who intend to continue fasting throughout Syawal (fasting six days of Syawal after the obligatory fast of Ramadhan is Sunat Mustahabbah). It is not obligatory. Let’s recharge our iman, everyone =))
I'm so accustomed to rain and thunder these days
Exhilarating?
It has become a common event for our family to stay a few nights in PD (Port Dickson), stopping by before continuing our nerve-racking journey to our kampong somewhere in Mersing. That’s how this new word is being coined, “sight-seeing-cum-shopping trip”. I got few bruises as my lifetime souvenirs because some leeching mosquitoes kissed and sucked my blood! The place or what known as the “apartment” kinda secluded and away from the nostalgic town of PD. But the place is beautiful amidst the lapis-lazuli sea water. I didn’t have the guts to put myself near the lapping water or even spend time to walk a distance along the shore. I heard that there was once a crocodile attack not far from the beach in front of the "apartment". Kinda freak-me-out.
More or less my vacation was a tribute to my past vigils (I slept a lot!) and watching great movies vis-a-viz (I don’t think I use this word correctly. It sounds peculiar) gaining some more weight.

this was how the traffic looked like on the third day of Eid
The excitement was stretch to a great length when mum took us to Seremban. We met a family that take interest in food. Well the “mak cik” is so into food and culinary that she cooked tonnes of food exclusively for us. Sadly, I forgot to take some photos because I was really drawn into the heaven of food. The succulent and scrumptious food had exceptionally affected me at large.
the kids...so chatty
I put on 1 more kg of fat in two days. I feel like imma big bad wolf that eats a lot in the "Red Riding Hood". Food is my entire life weakness. Hit me with your best shot!
this was the furthest my legs could carry me
The best part of this year’s Eid is the “ketupat”. It’s like dumplings but it’s wrapped with coconut leaves and the process of making a ketupat is an arduous one. My family in Mersing never miss the opportunity to make ketupats for Eid. It’s one of my family’s favourites. Most probably it’s because of the coconut leaves that’ll leave slightly more delicious taste and aroma to the rice dumplings or maybe perhaps due to the sentimental values that the process carries.
my darling "rempeyek"
There are so many types of ketupat. But my family signature’s ketupat are “ketupat sate”, “ketupat bantal” and “ketupat burung” (this one is the easiest one. In short, it’s for the beginners). However, I failed to create any ketupat this year.
the ketupats...pheww
Paw meoww
This is the cat that I’ve been talking about. She’s named “Anje”. She’s really adorable and really tame. You can even scratch her tummy and hear her purrs when you put your tiny finger on her pinkish dotty nose. Lemme nibble it. She has a baby cat but the kitten went missing when my little cousin put them both into a box. The kitten was pretty terrified. I hardly caught any glimpse of it anymore but Mama Cat came and bid me farewell before I embarked on another journey (going to KL for shopping!!!).
hey presto!
So far, my current collection for duit raya is fruitless. RM300 for the five days of Eid. I was expecting more. My room is still unkempt because we’re moving into a new house. Just next door.
i got bored of shopping. i spent more than i had actually earned
Westwood is not only for Robin Hood
I got Westwood for my first year's accommodation. I'm pretty much elated because it's away from the noise of party goers and it offers the biggest room at a very reasonable price. The reason being why I choose to stay on campus is that it's cheaper.
Why is it cheaper?
Consider your staying in the UK still requires you to have water for drinking and cleaning yourself e.g. laundry, it's more recommendable to stay in campus where the university will foot our bills. Access to the internet will not be a problem when the university has promised fast-speed internet access to every students staying in campus. If you still hungry for entertainment and sports, Westwood has its own sports centre and there's a musolah for every muslim in Warwick.
SOGO...
Security, check!
I don’t think it’s a pretty good idea for a first year student to stay outside when you are more secured to stay on campus. I don’t think I can easily adapt to a new environment in just few days. I need familiar faces around. I know no one if I want to stay outside. Nothing warrants me of a secured life.
Study is my priority
Living on campus is a bonus and a must to bookworms and workaholics. The library is available 24/7 for the inhabitants of the campus. I can always run, walk or even crawl to the library. I come to the UK to study. That’s my motto. No one can change that.
Conclusion
All hyped up for 1 October 2010...
